I established my kennels in 1993 with the purchase of my first Malamute, Merlin. Once I had experienced the wonder of owning and sharing my life with a Malamute, I was hooked and soon was looking around for another one to join my pack. In February 2002 I stepped into the relatively new world (in Australia) of the delightful Finnish Lapphund with the purchase Blaze.

Once my own Human family started coming along, I decided to concentrate on my Finnish Lapphunds and I have stoped breeding and exhibiting Alaskan Malamutes, but they still hold a very special place in my heart.

I love showing my dogs and traveling with them around the countryside. Going onto breeding came as a marvel to me, watching a litter grow and being enchanted by seeing their personalities develop - I think that's why I kept so many from my first litter - I loved them all! Most of all I enjoy the walks, runs and plays I have with my dogs and watching them play and interact together...

As a breeder, I endeavour to produce sound puppies of quality and type. A great family member, but also a versatile dog that can move from the show ring - to herding - to obedience - to agility. I hip xray, prcd/PRA test and eye certify all my breeding stock.

VERSATILITY... That's owning a Lapphund!

Lapphunds are charming little characters, full of life and friendly as anything! Blaze sucked me into the breed and now I have imported a bitch Macey from Finland with plans of increasing the Lapphund numbers in Australia. I enjoy attending obedience lessons with my boy Kusko and Agility lessons with Blaze and enjoying bringing another TOP Lappy Import into the Australina Ring Alaska. Blaze was the first Finnish Lapphund to obtain his Herding Instinct Title in Australia and I hope to continue herding with Blaze in the future. Life sure is busy around Articmal Kennels these days!

Lapphunds are an extreamly Family friendly breed, they love to be inside and part of the human Pack. They are very very gentle with young children, pictured here are Blaze and Macey with my children Alex and Declan.
